Mountain Water Decaffeinated

Mountain Water Decaffeinated is a chemical-free decaffeination process developed in Mexico. It's similar to the Swiss Water Process but uses spring water from mountains near the processing facility. The process begins by soaking green coffee beans in water to extract caffeine and flavor compounds. This water is then passed through a carbon filter, which removes the caffeine but leaves the flavor molecules. The now-caffeine-free but flavor-rich water is reintroduced to a new batch of coffee beans. Through osmosis, this water draws out the caffeine from the new beans but doesn't remove the flavors, as the water is already saturated with coffee flavors. This process is repeated until the beans are 99.9% caffeine-free. Mountain Water Decaf is known for preserving much of the coffee's original flavor profile, resulting in a decaffeinated coffee that closely resembles its caffeinated counterpart in taste and aroma.
